Privacy policy

Last updated: 6 November 2026.

This English version is a translation provided for convenience. This policy is drawn up in French and Arabic, and only those versions have legal force: if there is any difference, they prevail.

This policy explains what personal data UCOLIS collects, why, who can see it, how long it is kept and how to exercise your rights. It applies to the UCOLIS mobile application, its website and associated services, in accordance with Law No. 18-07 of 10 June 2018 on the protection of natural persons in the processing of personal data.

1. Data controller

The data controller is [COMPANY NAME], a [LEGAL FORM] registered in the trade register under number [TRADE REGISTER NO.], with its registered office at [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS], Algeria ("UCOLIS" or "we"). UCOLIS's processing has been declared to the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (ANPDP) under number [ANPDP RECEIPT NO.].

For any question about your data, write to us at the email address shown on the Help page of the application, with the subject "Personal data".

2. Data we collect

Your account

  • First name, last name, email address and phone number.
  • Password, stored only in an irreversibly encrypted form (we do not know it).
  • Wilaya, commune, chosen use (sending, carrying or both), optional photo and bio.
  • Language, notification preferences, blocked users, version of the terms of use accepted and date of acceptance.

Carrier verification

  • Identity card (front and back), driving licence, vehicle registration document and insurance certificate, with their expiry dates.
  • Vehicles: type, make, model, registration number, capacity, volume and photo.

Professional status

  • Company name, legal form, number and copy of the trade register extract or of the self-employed or craftsperson card, tax ID (NIF) and its copy, statistical ID (NIS), registered office address and logo.

Your activity

  • Listings: departure and destination addresses and their position on the map, address details, description, category, weight, dimensions, photos, dates, price, agreed payment method, name and phone number of the recipient.
  • Trips, offers, counter-offers, favourites and saved alerts.
  • Messages (text and images) exchanged through messaging.
  • Reviews, reports, disputes, attached photos and proofs of delivery.
  • Carrier wallet: balance, transactions, top-up requests with amount, transfer method, reference and proof.

Your location

  • During a delivery, and only for the selected carrier: position, accuracy, heading and speed, recorded about every 10 seconds or every 25 metres, including when the application is in the background if you allow it. Sharing starts when you start the delivery and stops at handover, in the event of a dispute or when you log out.
  • For carriers, outside deliveries: the position is recorded when the application is opened and then every 15 minutes while it is open, in order to notify you of parcels posted near you. It is never recorded for this purpose when the application is closed.
  • When you use "My current location" or "Choose on the map", the chosen point is sent to our servers to find the corresponding address.

Technical data

  • Device identifier created by the application, device model and system, application version, notification token, IP address, connection and last activity dates.
  • Technical logs and error reports, used for security and to fix faults.

Launch waiting list

  • If you sign up on our website to be told about the launch, without creating an account: email address, chosen profile (sending, carrying or business), wilaya if you give it, website language, and the date of your sign-up and consent.

On your phone only

Some data stays on your device and is not sent to us: listing draft, recent addresses (erased on logout), search filters, display choices and cached data. Your session token is kept in the phone's secure storage.

We do not collect your contacts, we do not use any advertising tracker and we do not sell your data.

3. Why we use your data

  • To create and secure your account, verify your email address, log you in and protect your account against fraudulent access.
  • To provide the Service: publishing listings and trips, calculating the suggested price and distances, connecting senders and carriers, managing offers, messaging, delivery, the handover code and tracking.
  • To verify carriers' identities and professionals' supporting documents, and to warn you before your documents expire.
  • To send you useful notifications: offers, deliveries, messages, alerts, nearby parcels, verification decisions.
  • To build trust: reviews, profile statistics, badges.
  • To handle reports and disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce the terms of use.
  • To manage the commission and the carrier wallet, when they are in force.
  • To ensure the proper operation, security and improvement of the application, based on aggregate statistics.
  • To comply with our legal obligations and respond to requests from the authorised authorities.
  • If you have joined the launch waiting list, to tell you when the application launches. Your email is not used for anything else.

This processing is based on the performance of the terms of use you have accepted, on your consent (location, photos, notifications, acceptance at registration, joining the waiting list), on our legal obligations and on our legitimate interest in securing the Service.

4. Who can see your data

Everyone, even without an account

  • Your public profile: first name and initial of your last name (or company name and logo for a professional account), photo, badges, length of membership, wilaya, statistics (parcels sent and delivered, success rate, withdrawals), ratings, reviews and active trips.
  • Your listings: title, description, photos, parcel characteristics, departure and destination addresses and their position on the map, desired date and asking price. In the address and its details, only include what is necessary for pick-up.
  • The vehicle chosen for an offer or trip (type, make, model, capacity, photo). Only the last 3 digits of its registration number are visible.

The people you deal with

  • Your phone number is never public. It is visible only between the sender and the selected carrier, from acceptance of the offer until 7 days after delivery.
  • The recipient's name and phone number are visible to the sender and the selected carrier.
  • The amount of offers is visible only to the sender and the carrier concerned. The handover code is visible only to the sender.
  • The carrier's position during delivery is visible only to the sender of the parcel.
  • Messages are visible only to the two participants in the conversation.

The UCOLIS team

Team members only access the data necessary for their role (verifications, moderation, disputes, support). Email and phone number are hidden by default; displaying them in full, viewing a conversation and viewing identity documents are reserved for authorised people and recorded in a log. Conversations are only read in connection with a report or dispute concerning them, unless required by law. During a dispute, the person handling it can view the delivery's position history.

Our technical providers

We use providers who process data on our behalf, according to our instructions and only for the needs of the Service:

  • hosting of the servers and database (MongoDB Atlas);
  • storage of photos and documents (Cloudinary), with identity documents and professional supporting documents stored with restricted access;
  • sending of emails (Brevo) and notifications (Expo, Apple and Google);
  • address search (OpenStreetMap, or Google depending on the configuration), which receives the text searched for or the chosen point, without your identity;
  • map display (Google Maps on Android, Apple Maps on iOS);
  • technical error monitoring (Sentry).

Some of these providers are located outside Algeria. These transfers are limited to the data necessary for the Service and are carried out under the conditions set out in Law No. 18-07.

The authorities

We may disclose data to the authorised judicial or administrative authorities, on a request that complies with the law.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Account: as long as it is active. After a deletion request, a period of 14 days allows you to cancel it; after that, personal data is erased or anonymised (see article 7).
  • Identity documents and professional supporting documents: for the life of the account, then removed from our servers when the account is deleted.
  • Last GPS position of a delivery: 24 hours. Position history of a delivery: 30 days, for handling any dispute.
  • Position used for nearby parcels: only the latest is kept; it is no longer used after 24 hours and is erased when the account is deleted.
  • Listing photos: deleted 90 days after the end of the listing (delivered, cancelled or expired). Message images: deleted 180 days after being sent. These periods are extended while a report or dispute is in progress. Dispute photos and proofs of delivery are kept as part of the case file.
  • Notifications: 90 days.
  • Verification codes sent by email: 15 minutes. Login sessions: 30 days at most without use.
  • Security and audit logs, wallet transactions: kept for as long as necessary to comply with our legal obligations and defend our rights.
  • Launch waiting list: for as long as necessary to tell you about the launch, and at most 24 months from your sign-up, after which your data is erased automatically. You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to contact@ucolis.com: your address is then erased.

6. Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted connections, irreversibly encrypted passwords, encrypted handover codes, time-limited and revocable sessions, detection of the reuse of a stolen token, limits on login attempts, restricted and logged team access, mandatory two-factor authentication for the team, and temporary links lasting a few minutes for viewing identity documents.

As no system is infallible, keep your password secret and log out any devices you do not recognise. UCOLIS will never ask you for your password or for a code received by email.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in Profile, Delete my account, except during a delivery in progress. If you no longer have access to the application, the steps are at https://ucolis.com/en/suppression-compte/. After the 14-day period:

  • your active listings are cancelled and your offers withdrawn;
  • your name is replaced by "Deleted user", and your email, phone number and last position are erased;
  • your identity documents and professional supporting documents are deleted, as are your profile photo, your vehicle photos and your logo;
  • the name and phone number of your parcels' recipients and your saved searches are erased;
  • your reviews and messages remain visible to their recipients, under the label "Deleted user", to preserve the reliability of reviews and the history of exchanges.

8. Your rights

In accordance with Law No. 18-07, you have:

  • the right to be informed about the processing of your data, which is the purpose of this policy;
  • the right to access your data;
  • the right to rectify inaccurate or incomplete data: most of it can be changed directly in Profile, Edit profile;
  • the right to object, on legitimate grounds, to the processing of your data, and the right to refuse any direct marketing;
  • the right to have your data erased, in particular by deleting your account.

To exercise these rights, write to us from your account's email address. We may ask you to prove your identity. We reply within the time limits set by law.

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can refer the matter to the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (ANPDP).

9. Your phone's permissions

The application asks you for certain permissions, always after explaining why:

  • Location while using the app: choosing an address, being notified of nearby parcels (carriers).
  • Background location (carriers): sharing your position during a delivery, even with the screen off. On Android, a permanent notification shows this; on iOS, the location indicator is displayed. Without this permission, the delivery remains possible but the sender cannot follow it continuously.
  • Camera and photos: adding photos to listings, messages, your profile, documents and disputes.
  • Notifications: being told about offers, messages and delivery stages.

You can withdraw these permissions at any time in your phone's settings. Some functions will then no longer be available.

10. Emails and notifications

We send you service emails (verification codes, password reset, information about your account) and notifications related to your activity. You can set the notification categories in Profile, Notification preferences. The Account and verification category cannot be turned off, as it concerns the security and status of your account. Information messages from UCOLIS (UCOLIS announcements category) can be turned off at any time.

11. Minors

The Service is reserved for adults. We do not knowingly collect data about minors. If you think a minor has created an account, contact us so that we can delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may change this policy to reflect changes in the Service or in the regulations. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. In the event of a significant change, you will be informed in the application.

13. Contact us

For any question or request about your personal data, contact us by email or WhatsApp from the Help page of the application.
